The quality of large forgings is mainly reflected in: superior metallurgical quality; uniform and dense structure; qualified mechanical properties; good dimensional accuracy and minimal defects. To improve the quality of large forgings, we must first mention the purity of molten steel. 

For example, the use of furnace refining, effectively remove the gas in the steel, non-metallic inclusions and harmful trace elements, adjust the chemical composition and the temperature of the copper, and then clean the casting, to maintain the purity of the steel. Second, choose a reasonable spindle type, control Condensation conditions, to obtain the ideal crystal structure, thereby greatly improving the quality of forged raw materials. 

Then, it should be heated properly to not only improve the plasticity of the process, but also facilitate the formation of the product, and it can also prevent cracks, coarse grains, overheating, and underheating. Large forging is not only forming, obtaining the required shape and size, but more importantly, breaking the as-cast coarse crystals, compacting the shrinkage-reducing structure, obtaining a reasonable fiber distribution, lifting the mechanical properties, and properly controlling the forging cooling and heat treatment. Refine grain, improve organization, eliminate stress, prevent white spots, adjust performance, and meet toughness requirements.
